PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Coordinate and control the maintenance, development, renewal, construction, and provision of civil infrastructure (permanent way, bridges, culverts buildings, structures, etc.) in such a way that customer needs are satisfied and resources are optimized.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

B. Sc. degree in Civil Engineering, registered as a Professional Engineer with the Namibian Engineering Council
Ten years experience in a civil construction environment of which three years should have been at the Senior Engineer level, with emphasis on rail infrastructure maintenance and construction
Track maintenance, design, and construction, building and structures maintenance, design, and construction, knowledge of interaction with rolling stock and railway environment, costing and budgeting for infrastructure maintenance and construction
Analytical, interpersonal skills, long-term planning skills, organizational skills, leadership/ management, and communication skills
Self-starting initiatives, time management, visionary, stress management, goal directness, emotionally mature/ self-controlled and flexible
