DESCRIPTION
Collections management
Ensure full understanding and implementation of the collections strategy for the group of accounts / portfolio/s being collected against
Ensure that allocated collection target/s are achieved
Use effective communication and negotiation to ensure successful commitments to pay (Promises to Pay)
Follow-up daily on the progress of the PTP’s and the respective statuses to optimize collections
Ensure full understanding of product/s working on
Follow written and/or oral instructions to ensure the successful application of business and collection processes
Manage responsibilities with initiative, common sense, and time management
Receives and responds to incoming questions or complaints; provides information, explains policy and procedures, and/or facilitates a resolution
Demonstrate a sound understanding of business and legislative requirements for successful collections
Quality management
Understands, interprets, and applies laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures to the collections process
Adhere to / utilize the collections call script/s
Deals with people and/or debtors in a manner that shows empathy, tact, and professionalism
Ensure that all debtor’s information held on record is up-to-date and accurate
Ensure that the accounts are properly maintained at all times on the collections system
Productivity management
Demonstrates understanding of daily productivity targets and applies to daily collections process:
Work the targeted number of matters (accounts) per day
Achieve the targeted number of fixed arrangements per day (PTP’s)
REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12
Previous experience in collections will be an advantage.
Achieves collections to the collections target set
Practices sound negotiation skills
Practices sound communication skills
Demonstrates an understanding of the pool of accounts being collected against
Demonstrates a solid understanding of the product/s working on /portfolio-specific knowledge and communicates this information appropriately
Manages difficult situations/debtors to positive resolutions – ptp’s achieved/converted into collections
Undertakes the necessary actions to ensure successful strategy implementation
Works effectively as a member of a team
Demonstrates understanding of NCA and DCA Acts and can interpret, communicate and apply them to the collections process when required
