PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To perform all operational activities regarding the herd in order to achieve the strategic initiatives and critical success factors of the department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Perform milk parlor duties regarding collecting and milking of cows in production.
Perform assigned tasks with regard to herd health regarding daily observations, vet visits, treatment, vaccinations, and artificial insemination.
Perform assigned tasks with regard to the treatment and care of animals in the hospital
Perform assigned tasks with regard to the caretaking of calves.
Perform assigned tasks with regard to the caretaking of newborn calves.
Perform housekeeping duties in all operational areas to maintain a high standard of hygiene.
Drive the tractor as assigned and adhere to the care and maintenance procedures.
Adhere to Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
Adhere to all operational procedures in the execution of duties.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

Grade 10
Minimum 1–2 years experience in the same or similar environment.
Competency in Artificial Insemination will be an added advantage.
