Job Description

To manage the mechanical and electrical engineering function through the establishment, upgrading, and specialized maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and electronic infrastructure to ensure that water supply systems are operating efficiently and effectively.

Minimum Requirements

BSc Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering (NQF Level 8)
10 years experience in an M&E Engineering environment, of which 3 years at the management level
Registered professional engineer
Driver’s License Code B

Competencies, Skills, and Abilities

Understanding and using Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Systems in the water supply.
Developing new and ungraded Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Systems in the water supply.
Understanding the process of learning. (Continuous learning approach.)
Understanding people and how they function.
Understanding variance in working conditions.
Use all of the above to perform work for NamWater in accordance with NamWater’s Vision and Mission.
Innovation
Understanding Telemetry and SCADA systems, the development and use there off
Advanced skill in the use of excel as a tool in all areas of management including analysis of water supply systems.
