Rosh Pinah Mine is an underground zinc-lead mine and a 2000-tonne-per-day milling operation located in southwestern Namibia,
approximately 800 km south of Windhoek and 20 km north of the Orange River, at the edge of the Namib Desert. The Rosh Pinah
Mine is taking the next exciting step to modernize and digitize our underground working environment. An exciting career awaits

of disruptive technologies that will enable us in putting together integrated mining plans with precision execution for our
underground mine, and this is just the beginning, with many more innovative initiatives to come!
Vacancy Opening: Supervisor: Diamond Drill (C upper)
The incumbent shall be responsible for among other duties, the following key performance areas.
• Manage diamond drilling functions to produce core for geological purposes to extend the life of the mine and
to assist the geologist with the use of the relevant Instruments.
• Safety leader through promotion and adherence to established policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Ensure and maintain a healthy environment, safe operations and practices.
• Labor planning and leave planning of the drilling crews.
• Conduct and facilitate diamond drill operational training.
• Optimize monitoring and maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
• Assist in the preparation of the section’s annual budget by forecasting operational and manpower cost.
Monitor expenditure and costs on a regular basis.
• Drive research and development initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and enhanced performance.
• Keep abreast of new developments and potential threats within designated area are identified and addressed
timeously.
• Ensure multi-tasking and prioritizing during peak times and absences.
• Achieve production targets through optimum output.
• Ensure operational efficiency and quality.
• Assume responsibility for coordinating first line maintenance to equipment downtime.
• Control stock levels.
• Assists with ad hoc duties, relevant to profession, as requested by Supervisor or Head of Department.
Ideally, you will have:
Education & Experience
• A pass in Grade 12
• 5 years mining experience.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• In possession of a valid underground blasting ticket.
• First Line Management qualification will be an added advantage.
• Train-the-trainer certificate will be and added advantage.
• Valid Code B Driver’s License.
• Proficiency in English.
