POSITION: Deputy Country Manager
The Deputy Country Manager’s role is to support Country Manager in representing the company’s interests in Namibia.
Internal in-country coordination:
In collaboration with the Country Manager, to develop the annual operation work plan for Namibia.
Manage local staff/contractors as needed ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate with regional and corporate functions to support business initiatives and subject matter experts need in tax, legal, HR, insurance, finance, government relations and other administrative requirements and for stakeholders’ engagement.
Ensure financial controls and practices are upheld, monitor budget spending, and advise Country Manager on budget management.
Take responsibility for in-country activities including travel, security, and transport logistics.
Develop and implement an effective inventory management system.
In collaboration with Global Security, develop and maintain a safety and security plan for Namibia’s country office and ensure all staff and visitors are briefed and comply with all security protocols.
Ensure adherence and compliance with company Policies and Procedures.
Provide support and advise the leadership team in identifying and resolving issues with the relevant stakeholders.
Perform Ad hoc duties as advised by the company.
External Engagements:
Build and manage professional relationships with all existing and prospective partners.
Work with Country Manager and Corporate Affairs team on government relations, external communication, social investment, and legal compliance.
Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of the key stakeholders to ensure that their priorities are understood by the company and are addressed efficiently.
Maintain a strong ethical relationship between the company and all relevant institutions to ensure the long-term viability of the business and manage reputational risk.
Monitor and provide insight on government activities that could affect the company’s business in Namibia.
Maintain effective corporate relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the company’s credibility and reputation within the industry are preserved.
Stay abreast of recent industry trends and seek opportunities to consolidate the company’s presence in the country.
Job Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance or International Relations; a Master’s degree is a requirement.
Excellent knowledge of Namibia’s natural resources industry.
Minimum of 10 years of working experience in a similar role with operations and budget experience.
Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences.

Results-oriented and pragmatic with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
