Job Competencies include:
The role’s responsibility is to analyze user requirements, and design, develop, test, and deploy solutions. This includes research,
documentation, and modification of solution specifications throughout the solution production lifecycle.
• Analyse and review user requirements and business needs
• Define the technical requirements and identify integration points
• Conduct market analysis, trends and context for the use for the application to be developed and provide
recommendations
• Discuss the requirements with the user and the Business Intelligence team to define the reporting requirements
• Schedule and conduct design sessions with stakeholders to present the proposed design
• Develop the solutions and the required APIs based on the approved design and coding standards
• Schedule and conduct functionality demo sessions for every iteration and incorporate the changes proposed thereof
• Research on new technologies and industry standards within software development, to improve software designs and
technologies
• Research on bugs and security vulnerabilities in technologies and programming languages applicable to the business
• Investigate reported incidents and provide findings or root cause analysis on resolved incidents
Qualifications and Personal Competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Development / Computer Science / Information Technology, 3 years
• Experience in Web-based and Mobile Application development, 3 years
• Experience in system integration (API development RESTful and SOAP), 3 years
• Experience working on User Requirement Analysis and System Documentation, 3 years
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Database programming, 3 years
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and be able to complete basic DevOps responsibilities in addition to
software development
• Knowledge on best practices in the software and application development industry with an inclination to apply them
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to facilitate discussions directly with business users to
clarify minor details related to the assigned task
• Possess a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality due to complex systems developed that can cause financial and
customer impact
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be a Namibian citizen or have permanent residency.
