FREIGHT CONTROLLER (x18 positions) – Pro Parcel

The above-mentioned positions is vacant at our Pro Parcel, Windhoek Depot. The FP du Toit Transport Group is in existence since 1968 and diversified over time from a solely long-haul operation to one which now includes Pro Parcel (a part-load and distribution operation), Jet.X Couriers (an express road and air courier service) as well as Wesbank Transport (a full-load and abnormal division). This is in line with our strategy to offer our clients a complete range of services to satisfy all their logistical requirements. This position reports to the Depot Manager in Windhoek.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:

• Sorting, picking, verifying, and packing of consignment
• Scanning
• Labelling of parcels with barcoded stickers
• Ensure that all vehicles are loaded and/or off-loaded efficiently and effectively
• Housekeeping of the warehouse
• Compare waybills, client documentation to freight/consignment loaded and/or delivered
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
• Adhere to security measures including inspections and quality checks
• Other general duties in line with the responsibilities and scope of a Freight Controller

THE SUITABLE APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

• A valid Grade 10 certificate (with at least 23 points)
• 1-2 years applied experience
• Proven computer skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Afrikaans
• Must be willing to work overtime and shifts
• Physically fit to be able to handle freight
• Attention to detail
• Be a reliable, accurate and dependable person
• Friendly disposition and excellent communicator
• Ability to work under pressure
• Initiative, problem identification and solving ability
• Namibia Citizenship
