Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate
• 3 Years’ experience in a buying/procurement role in the FMCG retail environment
• Must be able to plan, prepare and assist with the annual budgeting to enSure effective budget planning to execute operations
• Working knowledge of the FMCG retail environment
• Must be able to oversee proper record keeping of all supplier information
• Strong negotiating skills

• Must be Microsoft Office proficient, especially
• Microsoft Excel
• Must be proactive, able to work autonomously and perform under pressure
• Code 08 Driver’s license will be an advantage
• Namibian citizen

Job Specification

• Evaluate suppliers, manage supplier contract and trading terms, negotiate pricing and discounts, resolve disputes, maintain records
• Place stock orders, manage backorders and ensure timeous delivery
• Manage profit margins by procuring at the best prices and advising on market related margins
• Execute buying process tasks accurately to ensure correct prices and quantities
• Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
• Market research and surveys, analysis, feedback, and reporting
• Stay up to date with market trends and pricing to ensure best buying
• Stay up to date with product knowledge and pricing to ensure market relevant and competitive offer
• Plan, monitor and report on promotions
• Responsible for Inventory management at the warehouse and branches
• Stock rototion in accordance with the FIFO inventory management System
• Returns and supplier claims
• Calculate transport costs to determine profit/ loss of freight
• Assist creditors with queries to ensure continuous buying
• Manage internal customer relations
