The Position
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, as the Manager: HR Projects, you will have complete oversight of all HR administrative services provided
to external clients and relevant stakeholders, which include HR policy administration & implementation, contracting, payroll administration,
employee induction/orientation, audit & compliance activities, monitoring & evaluation services. You will play a key role in developing, planning,
and implementing organisational and departmental strategies. In addition, you will be expected to maintain the effective functioning of the
department and ensure ongoing development and improvement of its activities, processes, and services. The incumbent must continually and
efficiently identify gaps and determine appropriate and practical solutions. The position seeks a catalyst for sustainable opportunities with a proven
track record of leadership, relationship building, and stakeholder management expertise. This position suits an aspiring professional eager to learn
and grow within the organisation’s senior management structure.
Key areas of focus:
• Strategic Management: Participate in yearly strategic development and planning sessions. Offer operational advisory services and
recommendations to the executive committee.
• Operational Management: Ensure that all departmental activities are executed on time and within the defined budget. Develop, implement,
and review the organisation’s policies and procedures. Explore ways to minimise business expenses and optimise profits.
• Human Resources: Assist the Senior Manager: HR Projects with challenges that may arise in the recruitment process. Review performance
targets developed for subordinates. Review and approve employee training programs, coaching, and mentoring strategies.
• Compliance: Work closely with legal and safety advisors to ensure all business operations remain compliant. Ensure legal and regulatory
documents of all cost units are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations. Review, approve, and oversee risk management
strategies and a fraud prevention framework.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Oversee the ongoing development of an M&E system, framework, and tools. Oversee M&E activities and project
management. Review and approve new or adjusted M&E systems, frameworks, and tools. Facilitate compliance, M&E, and HR site visit planning.
• Information Technology (IT): Oversee the implementation of the IT strategy and activities. Oversee IT Project Management. Review all IT
reports and recommendations.
• Collaboration: Prepare for and facilitate department meetings. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Facilitate
effective collaboration with external consultants, clients, and stakeholders.
The Person
Minimum requirements:
• A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or related from a recognised tertiary institution.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in an operations management or general management role, with knowledge of service industries being an added advantage
• Extensive knowledge of the Labour Act and various HR administrative practices, processes, systems, and databases
• Good knowledge of M&E systems
• Good knowledge of international standards of auditing and accounting, IT systems, corporate governance, and statutory legal frameworks would be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting systems, cash flows, financial analysis, and the implementation of financial controls would be an added advantage
• Good knowledge of IIA’s International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards)/GAAP/ IFRS would be an added advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent project management skills
• Fluent in English
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Computer Literate (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint)
