JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of this job is to utilize Fintech, Reg-tech and Sup-tech to
deliver value to the institution. This includes providing statistical analysis,
forecasting, predictive modelling, simulation, machine learning and
optimisation to discover trends, opportunities and threats. In addition, the
position must provide latest developments in data science technology
and methodologies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Coordinate the Regulatory Sandbox by:
o guiding applicants on procedures when submitting
applications into the regulatory sandbox;
o reviewing Fintech applications, in conjunction with the
Licensing & Registration Department, based on the sandbox
regulatory framework and guidance note;
o preparing Fintech applications assessments reports,
recommendations and approval/rejection letters;
o monitoring the admitted entities into the sandbox by
evaluating if any complaints have been adequately
addressed according to the TCF principles;
o recommending relevant entities for consideration when
exiting from Sandbox;
o coordinating technical committee on Fintech.
• Organize and host Fintech Day and utilize information provided to
develop a comprehensive Fintech strategy for NAMFISA;
• Participate in industry meetings and prepare presentations if
applicable;
• Conduct workshops with potential entities on steps to follow when
submitting the application, and testing period requirements;
• Draft Public Notices on regulatory sandbox testing requirements;
• Research and recommend latest technology that can improve
supervisory processes within NAMFISA;
• Conduct and coordinate research on:
o International best practice principles on Fintech (IOPS, IAIS,
OECD, etc.);
o Challenges/issues faced due to Fintech and make
recommendations for policy review
• Assist with drafting of internal divisional policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• B-degree in Actuarial Studies/Statistics /Mathematics/ Economics/
Finance;
• One – three (1-3) years’ experience in analysis (i.e. actuarial,
administration, compliance management, statistical and market
conduct analysis).
KNOWLEDGE OF:
• NAMFISA’s mission, vision, objectives, functions, processes and

• Macro-economic environment and understanding of fintech in the
financial sector
• Up to date with Fintech industry trends and legislative environment
globally and nationally,
• Understanding of Reg-tech and Sup-tech,
