Summary of the Job:

Works across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. Responsible for answering IT requests via phone, email, live chat or instant message and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms.

Responsible for maintenance and support of the IT Components of the Institution in the assigned areas. These include the Network (Internet included), Servers, Computers (Hardware and Software), Projectors, Projector Screens, Network Points, Printers, Telephones and any other IT components assigned. The Officer will also be fully responsible for providing IT support to staff and students of Botho University and any other duties as would be assigned by supervisors from time to time.

Qualifications And Skills

Diploma in Computing with Specialisation in Networking plus 2years of experience.
Certifications in CCNA/CCNP will be an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies required:

Excellent Customer Service (Face-to-Face).
Telephone or Electronic Interaction with Clients, Good Language and Communications Skills, Problem-Solving.
Relevant Certifications such as Microsoft/Comptia and Cisco, Good Understanding of Computer Support and Troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Windows 7/10, Mac OSX, Windows Server products and/or Apple Operating Systems,
Ability to Work in a Team, ability to Prioritise Projects.
Excellent Network and server management.
Install and configure virtual hosts-VMware Training.
Install and configure infrastructure servers – MCSE Training.
