MECHANIC ARTISAN: JOB GRADE (C3)

DUTY STATION: HOSEA KUTAKO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The incumbent reports to the Mechanic Foreman: Hosea Kutako International Airport.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Perform basic to complex diagnostic procedures on all vehicle systems; determine appropriate maintenance and repairs; effectively apply trade knowledge and automotive diagnostic equipment to interpret manufacturers specifications; generate and keep records and files as well as advise in the selection and ordering of company vehicles based on performance application repair costs, maintenance cost and suitability.

Educational Requirements and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Automotive Trade Diploma.
• At least two years’ working experience in Automotive Mechanics. Skills and Attributes
• Basic knowledge of Mechanical equipment and tools.
• Basic knowledge of modern automotive / mechanical techniques and practices.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Analytical, decisive, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task, handle work pressures and to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate aptitude for learning modern technologies.
• Ethical conduct and high integrity.
