PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to maintain and repair all facilities on Midgard Lodge and ensure that the assets are kept in a good state of repair and working condition through the application of a disciplined preventative maintenance program
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Design and implement an effective preventative maintenance plan that ensures that every machinery, plant and equipment is backed up by a PMP
- Aligning Repairs & Maintenance activities to the budget and strategic plan
- Management of assets- ensuring that the purchasing procedures are observed and that assets are well looked after and accounted for at any given time
- Manage Repairs & Maintenance Service Level Agreements and Lease Agreements with energy saving initiatives and controlling the utility bill
- Repairs and general upkeep of the Midgard Lodge
- Management of fleet upkeep of all equipment, plant and machinery including FF&E
- Ensure conformity/compliance to occupational Health and Safety requirements as set by the company
- Ensure total compliance to risk management standards in areas of OHS, Engineering, Environmental Management, Security and Fire Management.
- Always ensuring that safety for guests and employees are considered especially based on the location and logistics involved in moving around guests and employees
- Provide continuous training to the team(formal and on-the job-training)
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Diploma /Degree in an Engineering Field
- A Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Repairs and Maintenance Manager in complex infrastructure
- Experience in hotel environment Repairs & Maintenance
- Strong background of application of Preventative Maintenance and risk Management
- Strong technical skills in Electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, building, carpentry, plumbing and heating.
- Great planning, organizational and controlling skills
- Highly hands on approach and personality
- A valid drivers license
