Senior Creditors Controller – NAMIB MILLS (PTY) LTD

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose is to manage and assist the Creditor Clerks team by ensuring that accounts payable are up-to-date and that follow-ups are done to ensure timely settlement of accounts.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure invoice details to agree to Namibian VAT Act.
• Ensure invoice to be captured in correct period, to correct vendor and allocated to indicated GL account.
• Ensure invoice is authorised for payment.
• Ensure that authorised order and GRV are attached – where required.
• Ensure invoices/statements to be paid in accordance with payment terms.
• Sort out any interest/penalties on account.
• Review all reconciliations of team before submitted for payment.
• Ensure creditors statements to be requested for all month end accounts.
• Statements to be reconciled to vendor account.
• Payments to be submitted as per agreed payment terms.
• Review list of all accruals submitted by team.
• Manage follow up of invoices on previous months accrual list.
• Managing of Creditors Team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

• Grade 12 (NQF4).
• Diploma in Accounting /Finance will be an added advantage.
• Five (5) to eight (8) years’ experience in a Creditors environment

OTHER

• Proficient in written & spoken English
• Experience with Microsoft applications, relevant software, Accpac experience would be an added advantage.
