A position exists for a Medical Scientist / Medical Technologist / Medical technician to work in the Clinical Pathology laboratory at our Reference Laboratory in Windhoek.

We seek a strong team player that is adaptable with a customer-centric approach and demonstrate the ability to perform under pressure and unsupervised while remaining passionate about optimising patient care through excellence in Pathology services.

Key Competency Requirements:
• Qualified Medical Technologist/Laboratory Scientist/Medical technician registered with the HPCNA.
• At least 2 years experience in a clinical pathology laboratory.• Meticulous with great attention to detail. • Computer literacy.• Analytical Skills.
• Reliable with good sense of responsibility. • Must be willing to work unsociable hours. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiar with ISO 15189:2012 accreditation requirements.

Key job responsibilities include:
• Processing of pathology tests using the appropriate SOP and various instruments. • Reviewing / screening of peripheral blood smears. • Reagent preparation.
• Responsible for laboratory stock management • Comply with the requirements regarding continuing professional education as per HPCNA requirements.
• Be responsible for the total quality management of the laboratory. • General laboratory work or any other reasonable request as required.
