Post Designation : Fisheries Research Technician Grade 9

Salary Scale : N$180,505 XP –N$216,499
Transport Allowance : N$7,680 per annum
Housing Allowance : N$10,464 per annum
Danger Allowance : N$30,780 per annum
Appointment requirements: An appropriate 3-year National diploma or B Tech (or an
equivalent qualification) in one or more of the following studies: Nature conservation,
Fisheries and Aquatic Science, Biological or Physical Oceanography and Environmental
studies.
Additional requirements: A high degree of competence in the use of computers, particularly
Microsoft (Access, Excel, Word software). A valid code BE driver’s license will be an
advantage.
Responsibility: The successful candidate will be required to manage databases, safe keeping
of records and ensuring the maintenance of the sections’ equipment. The candidate will also
be expected to assist with carrying out scientific investigations, compile scientific reports. The
successful candidate will be required to work at sea for approximately 60 days per annum.
