Background to the firm
Kinghorn Associates is a legal firm established in 1977. It renders a variety of legal services. The firm is mainly based at the coast (Swakopmund and Walvis Bay) and recently opened a Windhoek branch.
Vacancy for Legal Practitioner at Windhoek Office
Kinghorn Associates is extending its litigation department to its Windhoek branch. It requires the services of an admitted legal practitioner to be stationed at the Windhoek branch. The position will primarily require of the successful candidate to support the firm’s litigation practitioners in High Court and Supreme Court litigation and offers the candidate the opportunity to nurture and grow an own litigation practice within the firm.
Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements of the ideal candidate are:
- An admitted legal practitioner with no less than 4 years post-admission litigation experience.
- Expenence in the drafting of lower and superior court pleadings; attendances to and appearances in court and at judicial case management; and the general management of a litigation matter.
- A sound knowledge, understanding and a keen interest in the law. rules and practices concerning lower and superior court litigation and other forms of dispute resolution.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to organise, prioritise and work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently but also under guidance of leading practitioners and to function tn a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- A sound command of written and oral English and proficiancy one other language ordinarily spoken in Namibia.
- Namibian citizenship, or such other immigration status enabling the candidate to work in Namibia.
