Responsible for the correct operations of quality of supply functions regarding the installation, commissioning, maintenance and operation of all quality of supply equipment thereby ensuring an acceptable quality of supply levels of the City of Windhoek Electricity network as per NRS048 standard

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Carry on with work/job activities in the section as per the set objectives. Quality of supply equipment preparations, installation, maintenance, testing and operating. Quality of Supply field investigations Renewable Energy compliance testing. Administrative duties.

Skills, Experience & Education

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Level 3 Trade Diploma or a Completed Apprenticeship in the Electrical Field or a National Vocational Diploma(Electrical General IV) or a National Vocational Certificate General III- Red Seal).

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Minimum three (3) years post-graduation relevant experience in Quality of Supply and Electrical field.

REQUIRED SPECIALISATION: Quality of Supply, Electricity Metering, Specialized knowledge of tools and equipment, business computing experience using spread-sheets and/or databases to store, access, manage and analyse information pertaining to electricity quality of supply devices/meters.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT: Code B/BE driver’s license.

PRE-APPOINTMENT TRAINING AS AN ADDED ADVANTAGE: Wireman license, HV/MV/LV Networks, municipal setup, power distribution, specialised telecommunication and SCADA experience knowledge of radio, Ethernet cortication and optic fibre communications.

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of general electrical tools. Experience in 11/66 kV switching, safety rules and regulations, Electrical Standards and Procedures, SABS, test procedures, fault finding repair and maintenance, IT knowledge, WAN and LAN installation and maintenance experience, Radio technology and network.

SKILLS: Computer literate, well organization, dedicated, proper planning, interpersonal, adaptability, technical, Plan and work independently skills.
