2 x Senior Accountant

Desert Fruit (Pty) Ltd a Namibian  company. Is an equal opportunity employer looking for an ethical, dedicated.  dynamic, mature and experienced team player to join the company which grows  and packs high-value agricultural crops  (dates) for the international market and is situated on the banks of the Orange River  on the border between South Africa and  Namibia

We are looking to appoint 2 x Senior Accountants for our date farm.

Main duties:

• Support Operations. Stores.

Procurement. Logistics & Farm with planning, reporting & analysis

• Order Management; Purchase Requests/Orders & placing orders with  suppliers incl imports

• Expense analysis & reporting

• Preparation of management accounts

• Supplier, reconciliation & payment
• Collation & submission of VAT. PAYE, and other tax schedules
• Budget preparation

• Insurance and claims management & processing

• Assisting with implementation of Financial Controls
• Efficient General Ledger Management
• Fixed-Asset Register Management
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Stock and Inventory Management
• Bank Processing and Reconciliation

Requirements/ Qualifications:

• A 3-year relevant Financial Accounting  Degree/Diploma
• Namibian citizenship
• Driving license
• Min of 5 years’ experience in Financial I Accounting and/or Auditing
• Minimum software skills required Microsoft Office (Power Point. Excel Outlook & Word)
• Working experience with SAGE Evolution software will be an added advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English / Afrikaans
• Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Able to work in a team and independently
• Problem solving skills, detail-orientated and quality focused
• Strong interpersonal skills and high energy levels, must be able to work independently, perform under pressure and take initiative
