is seeking a highly motivated, suitably qualified
Political/Economic Assistant
Main duties:
• News monitoring, reporting, research and analysis in the areas of political and economic developments in Namibia, including creating and maintaining basic database;
• Speech drafting for the diplomatic staff;
• Arrange meetings with government, media and other organizations, and make relevant logistical arrangements;
• Administrative duties within the Embassy, including assistance at its events and official visits.
Qualifications and requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in political science, economics, international relations, public policy or relevant area;
• At least three to five years of professional experience;
• Sound knowledge of political institutions, economic/social systems and the history of Namibia;
• Strong English writing skills, research skills, and media monitoring skills;
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
• Communication skills and network building, including across cultures;
