VACANCY
POST: 1 X ACCOUNTANT
DEPARTMENT: FINANCE
Purpose:
To develop, direct and control the implementation and maintenance of the council’s financial control system to support business activities of the organization.
To supervise the Creditors and Debtors Clerks.
Key Performance Areas:
- Responsible to oversee the General Lodger Accounting System
- Ensure that all revenue generated is deposited and bank transactions are recorded on financial system
- Verifies new customer’s accounts to ensure customer standing data collected Is accurate for correct billing of customers
- Responsible for distributing duties through incoming mail and ensuring that staff respond to queries as soon as possible and provide feedback timeously
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate with Accounting as a Subject
- National Diploma in Financial Accounting
- At least 3 years appropriate working experience in a Local Authority environment
- Knowledge of the Finstel Accounting System
- Knowledge of the Munsoft System will be an advantage
