Clinical Mentors (x3 positions) – I-TECH Namibia

I-TECH Namibia promotes activities that increase human capacity for providing HIV/AIDS clinical care and support through the development of health care worker training systems. I-TECH invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the following position:

Clinical Mentors x3 (x1 Erongo Region; x1 Kavango Region; x1 Otjozondjupa Region).

The Position:

The goal of this position is to provide technical assistance to staff in selected health facilities in the implementation and operationalization of National ART guidelines, including but not limited to targeted HIV testing and clinical management of ART, as it furthers the MoHSS goal of closing the gaps in the HIV treatment cascade.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support sites to develop strategies to close gaps along the 95-95-95 HIV care and treatment continuum.
• Support all staff in ensuring high quality management of HIV-infected adults and children; and provide on-site mentoring.
• Evaluate and recommend patients for genotypic HIV drug resistance testing.
• Identify HIV training needs at ART sites.
• Provide supportive supervision to all HIV Nurse Mentors in the area of responsibility.

Required Education. Training & Experience;

• Medical Degree.
• Post-graduate diploma or certificate in HIV Management is an advantage.
• At least 6 years of clinical experience that includes management of patients with HIV on ART.
• Two years of previous HIV-related training experience.
• Current registration with the HPCNA as a Medical Practitioner.
