Position: Shop Operator x3

Location: Keetmanshoop and Swakopmund

Reporting: Supervisor

Key Responsibilities’:

• Greeting customers, taking money, and accepting bets
• Explaining odds and different ways off betting.
• Using computerized systems to take bets and payout winnings up to a certain amount.
• Making sure the TV is working and updating the display boards that show current betting opportunities.
• Keeping the shop clean and tidy and stocked with betting slips, pens, and odd sheets.
• Keeping the counter area clean and tidy.
• Balancing takings after the shop closes for the day.
• overseeing the betting terminals.
• Dealing with customers in a socially responsible way.
• Being alert to any potential fraud, underage gambling, or other illegal activity and taking action to prevent it.

Skills and Qualities

• Customer service and observation skills
• Math and basic computer skills
• The ability to cope with a fast-paced, varied workload

Entry Requirements

• Preferable Certificate or Grade 12 with good level of math and computer skills.
• It is of advantageous if applicants have experience in customer service, cashier, and an interest in sports.
