NATIONAL PROGRAM OFFICER: CERVICAL CANCER

Out client is a donor-funded organisation and partner in development in Namibia. working closely with the Ministry of Health and Social Serivces (MoHSS) Directorate of Special Programmes (DSP). deploying staff at hospital and heath facilities across the country as part of a coordinated effort with the MoHSS. Their goal Is to Increase the human capacity needed to provide HIV/AIDS clinical care in countries and regions that are mostly significantly Impacted by the AIDS epidemic. Further to this our client seeks to support and assist such countries and regions in their development of locally determined heath care worker systems to become optimally resourced highly responsive. and self sustaining

The Position
The successful incumbent will coordinate activities within DSP and with Partners to Implement the ’Screen and Treat” approach and any other new diagnostic techniques for screening and treating cervical cancer in women living with HIV. Furthermore, the incumbent will serve at the Program Manager tor Cervical Cancer Prevention Program (CECAPP). He/she will operate under the HIV Program In the Directorate of Special Programmes in coordination with the US. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention |CDC).
Key locus areas which include
• Coordinate the over an program and work In harmony with stakeholders to support strategy development and Implementation of the Cervical Cancer Prevention Program.
• Develop, refine, and execute robust CECAPP prog an pans ensuring that activities ere adequately panned to’ implemented, monitored. evaluated. and executed effectively.
• Coordinate the development end revision of national cervical cancer guidelines
• Participate in the development of the CECAPP training curriculum, job aides and M&E tools.
• Coordinate development of patient /client education materials and ensure the distribution and utilisatlon there of.
• Support Introduction and scale up of new Innovative technologies for the screening and treatment of cervical cancer.
• Strengthen referral system of advanced cervical cancer cases for further management.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure adherence to treatment guidelines and improve care and treatment for women living with HIV to detect, prevent and treat cervical cancer.
• Support progam operations by collaborating closely with other departments such as laboratory. procurement. finance, and RME.
Minimum requirement*
• An appropriate Health related Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent on NQF 17.
• Registration with the Nursing Council In Namibia
• Must be certified In Cervical Cancer ’See and Treat’ approach and have good training / education experience
• At least 3 years proven experience in health related program management and hearth related departmental management.
• Exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills
• Proven history of working independently and as a member of a team.
• Strong organising and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in managing grants and basic accounting skills necessary to daft. plan, and execute according to budgetary guidance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills In English
• Demonstrated professionalism diplomacy and experience in working with diverse stakeholders
