Liquor store Supervisor

Purpose of this role: To manage the department effectively with regards to customer satisfaction, achievement of departmental budgets, control of shrinkage and stock management in the liquor store.

Job specifications/responsibilities will include the following:

• Ensure that correct items are on the shop floor merchandised and priced correctly, to avoid obsolete stock
• Regularly check the relevant weekly/ monthly reports for sales figures, stock on hand, margins and gross profit
• Identify how well the department is performing against budget.
• Analyze the reasons for weaker/stronger performance and implement action plans for corrective action or to increase strong performance
• Ensure that there is a balance between lower priced items and higher priced items so that overall margin is achieved by controlling job lots, markdowns, damages, discounts etc
• Ensure that buyers are given out of stock lists, over stock lists and feedback on slow-moving or dead stock.
• Check the Aged Stock Analysis to identify aged stock and implement action plans to clear aged stocks.
• Ensure that damaged stock is removed from the sales floor, recorded and taken to the damages department.
• Ensure that stock is handled carefully to prevent damage
• Pack stock in such a way that it is attractive to customers.
• Ensure that shelf edge ticketing and pricing are up to date and accurate.
• Ensure that stock is moved as smoothly as possible from I Receiving to the shop floor.
• Identify high risk merchandise and implement action plans to prevent theft of these goods
• Effectively manage shrinkage and stock levels in the store according to company processes and procedures as well as due attention to the safety standards incl. daily/weekly/ monthly stock counts

Requirements:

• More than 1 year of related experience as a supervisor
• Minimum Grade 12 or Equivalent
• experience in store core operations , in a similar environment or a related role
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer orientation
• Attention to details and work under pressure
• Computer literate in MS office, MS out look
• Analytical ability
• Excellent attention to detail & planning and organizing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Relevant driver’s license.
• Ability to Work Without Supervision
