Job Description
The consultant is the startup community liaison for all events, programmes alumni, visitors to Basecamp, Pop-Up Camps and coworkers. The consultant is responsible for ensuring a positive and bustling environment. The coworking environment forms an integral part of Basecamp, the innovation and incubation centre of the Startup Namibia project. These operations will be used by the startup community and especially programme participants and graduates.
The Regional Startup Consultant will be responsible for the following:
- Assist with the setup and readiness for regional Pop-up camps and coworking spaces with the Regional Outreach Coordinator and Office Manager.
- Host at least one open mic pitching event per month and support regional events to provide space for the local community to watch the monthly Campfire series streaming live from Windhoek to the regions.
- Together with the Startup Community Manager, propose any new exciting concepts to improve the offering of the ideation stage programmes at Basecamp.
- Manage the daily operations of the regional Pop-Up Camp.
- Assist with the rollout of regional Pop-up Camps in consultation with the Team Leader and Community Manager.
- Assist with the plan for Pop-Up Camp/s and ensure that the environment is consistent with the offerings of Basecamp.
- Keep daily register and record of regional Pop-up Camp visitations, and keep a record of various entrepreneurs and startups using coworking facilities.
- Efficiently manage events and public activations for the Pop-Up Camp.
- Ensure that COVID-19 Regulations are maintained at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A certificate in Office Administration or any other related field
- Relevant experience in events management and public interactions
- A valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and at least one local language spoken in the respective region
- Intermediate knowledge of basic Information Communication Technology
- Applicant must be located/reside in the respective region they are applying to
