The misston of tho Mca! Board of Namibia is to promote a conducive environment for sustainable livestock production, market grovdh and diversification for livestock, meat and meat products.
The Meat Board is looking for a suitably capable, experienced, qualified and mature:
CHIEF: FAN (FARM ASSURED NAMIBIAN) MEAT
Reporting directly to the Manager: Meat Standards, the incumbent will mainly be responsible for assisting in the administration of the FAN Meat Scheme through monitoring of compliance to the FAN Meat scheme, identification of non-compliance and risks to integrity, development of mitigating strategies and implementation of corrective actions. Promotion of the FAN Meat scheme and public relations will form part of his/her responsibilities, as well as effective leadership and supervision of a team. The incumbent will also be responsible for the implementation and administration of the Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a related field, of which 3 years should be in a Supervisory/Leadership position.
Strong computer based data gathering, processing and reporting skills.
- Sound knowledge of the meat industry, with broader background of the farming systems.
- Knowledge of the livestock sector Including livestock Identification and Traceability.
- Knowledge of the Quality Management Systems (ISO).
- Valid code BE Driver’s License.
- Namibian Citizen.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Capability to work independently, and effectively lead and supervise a team.
- Capability of handling heavy workloads effectively, efficiently, professionally and against deadlines.
- Organising, conducting and coordinating audits and report writing.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Analytical mind with the ability to analyse data and information, with relevant problem solving stalls.
- Knowledge of other indigenous languages will be an advantage.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant BSc Agriculture Degree (Animal Science) or related field
- Advanced MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint competence
- Previous successful completion of a Lead Auditor course will be an added advantage.
