SENIOR GEOLOGIST – Remote Exploration Services

Remote Exploration Services is a dynamic exploration consulting company that provides geological, geophysical and analytical services to the exploration and mining industry. The company is currently looking to fill the following field-based position in Namibia:

SENIOR GEOLOGIST

Role Description

The successful candidate must ideally hold a PHD degree in Geology with demonstrable experience managing field exploration programs in remote locations in Africa. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, specificaty for the exploration of sediment-hosted stratiform copper deposits m addition, the successful candidate will need to be able to engage with Senior Management and Clients, at a high technical level, both through technical reporting and in an advisory capacity. In-depth knowledge of the Kalahari Copper Belt and Damara Super Group is a pre-requisite.

Role Requirements

• Management and oversight of all technical aspects of a geological exploration preset m a remote location;
• High level planning and execution of field based geological procedures;
• Technical supervision and management of an exploration team;
• Client liaison, reporting and high-level interpretation of data and fmdmgs to senior management and dient representatives;
• Significant time away from the office, out in the field, based In tented camps;
• Proven leadership and people management skis;

Job Requirements

• At least Masters, but preferably PhD level. Degree In Economic Geology and at least 5 years relevant

experience.

• Experience managing a mineral exploration project
• Certified in at least Level 1 First Aid
• Advanced Driving and 4×4 Vehicle Driving training and experience
• Training in managing risks m the field.
• Professionally registered geological scientist, or should at least be in the process of applying, with SACNASP (or similar internationally recognized body).
• Proficiency mArcMap. Adobe Illustrator Al and Microsoft Office Professional software are a prerequisite for this position
