FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – M5/DU

Purpose of the Job

The incumbent will be accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of penodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting pnnciples or international financial reporting standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Com degree in Accounting/Fmance
• Honours Degree In Accounting, CFMA will be an advantage

Required Experience

• 5 years experience of which 3 years must be at a line management level
• If CA qualified; 5 years experience of which at least 3 years must be at a management level
• Knowledge of Namibian tax legislation; Namibian

Company’s Act; International Financial Reporting Standards and MS Office package.

Key performance areas

• Manage the financial planning, cost control and reporting services
• Analyse applications received from departments for capital expenditure
• Perform financial calculation of capital expenditure applications
• Manage the capital expenditure process according to company policies and timeframes.
• Compile monthly capital expenditure reports for internal and external role players.
• Execute capitalization of final fixed assets according company policies and procedures, within stipulated time frames
• Manage training activities in the department
• Set annual and monthly goals, objectives and targets with and for subordinates
• Do regular performance.’devetopment reviews.
• Conduct regular bneflng sessions to employees on company/section tssues. behaviour and performance expectation
• Induct new employees to section in terms of: safety, health and environmental awareness, local rules, operations and procedures
• Promote the company Affirmative Action policies.
• Take responsibility for self and career development by setting and achieving personal goals
• Ensure SHEQ effectiveness
