NCAA Medical Specialist
Consultant Panel
The NCAA is pleased to welcome all Medical Specialists to serve on the NCAA Aviation Medical Consultant Panel as a part-time Specialist Consultant. Specialists from ALL Medical Disciplines are requested to assist the NCAA with regards to expert medical opinions.
Basic Requirements:
- Basic Medical degree (MBChB or alike)
- Specialist Medical degree
- Registration with the HPCNA as a specialist in a specific discipline
- Certificate of Good standing with the HPCNA, as a Specialist.
- Willingness to undergo NCAA induction training in Aviation Medicine.
Preference will be given to candidates who provide proof of experience in aviation/ hyperbaric medicine, be it training, education, experience of serving on similar panels, being pilots themselves or having work experience in the aviation/hyperbaric medical environment.
All candidates must have access to facilities at which they are able to perform their respective clinical consultant duties.
Duties:
Duties may consist of actual clinical work (work-up, diagnosing and treating of aviation personnel), as well as a purely academical function by providing expert medical opinions. The consultant panel will have regular sittings as required by the number of complicated medical cases presented to the NCAA. Panel sittings may be virtual and will be chaired by the NCAA Medical Assessor.
