The Commercial Lines Division has a position available for an Underwriter who will be based in the policy maintenance department in Windhoek. Namibia.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The position calls for a person who will provide strong underwing expertise that support profitable growth through applying proven underwriting principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for the handling and capturing of policy data and requires of the incumbent to embrace and encourage a culture of learning and growing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will be expected to perform (but not limited to) the following duties:
- Capturing of policy data on Santam systems according to Underwriting Guidelines.
- Communication and interaction with Commercial Service Consultants.
- Feedback to Quality Assurance Consultants on urgent queries.
- Daily Reporting to Team
- Monthly Report ing to Quality Assurance Consultants.
- Ability to perform under pressure and maintain a resilient approach in spite of set-backs.
- Adherence to set daily, monthly annual targets of the department with regard to Net Underwriting Results.
- Communication skills understanding, speaking and writing of English and Afrikaans.
- Inherent ability to live the Santam
- Self- Development to ensure personal growth with-in
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 (Matric Certificate) qualification with acceptable pass
- A minimum of three to five years underwriting experience within a short-term Commercial insurance industry required.
- Certificate of Proficiency (COP) or
- Computer literacy (MS Word. Excel and PowerPoint) at an intermediate proficiency level
- Santam Commercial product Training (SMK).
