1X POST: HEAD OF DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY SERVICES AND LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (PATTERSON D3)
JOB SUMMARY: To plan, direct, control and administer the affairs of the Department by formulating the vision of Council with regard to Community Services & Local Economic Development, Environmental Management and Health into policies and ensure that policies are executed in order to uplift the standards of living of the Katima Mulilo community (create jobs) and to provide an efficient service to the community. To advise management and council with regard to community and local economic development strategy and operations.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
- An Honours Degree in Public Administration I Business
Administration at NQF Level 8 with 5 years in community Services & Economic Development preferably in a local authority with at least 3 in a more senior professional and managerial role.
- An MBA will be an advantage
- Code B Driver’s License
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Highly analytical with good communication skills at an expertise and strategic level (able to get concepts and requirements across to others). With a very strong logical reasoning ability.
- Systematic and able to look at solutions conceptually as well as from a practical perspective.
- Able to work with people constructively and use convincing arguments to get people committed to implementation of solutions.
- Knowledge of the Local Authorities Act and other relevant legislations
- Computer literacy & Sound managerial ability
- Sound Customer orientation, Excellent interpersonal skills.
