Electrical Superintendent

Qualifications & Experience

– Grade 12 or Equivalent

– Recognised Trade Certificate relating to Electrical LV and MV field

– Proof of formal Supervisory training in Planning, Leading, Organising and Control

– MS Office Proficient [Word, Excel & MS Projects – ability to plan & schedule]

– Valid B Driver’s License

– Valid First Aid Certificate

– Good English communication skills [Written and verbal]

– At least 10 years’ practical experience in the mining industry, appointed in a legal position, 5 of which appointed as a GES in a legal position

– At least 5 years of experience in a Foreman supervisory level capacity

– Mechanical experience (Advantageous)

– Experience in writing procedures from issue based risk assessments

– Understanding of batch plant operation and maintenance and shotcrete utility vehicles

Main Responsibilities, but not limited to:-

– Lead and supervise the daily activities of the engineering teams to achieve project deliverables

– Enforce and monitor legal, safety and environmental procedure compliance

– Oversee and ensure competency of contractors / sub-contractors

– Ensure daily supply of materials to subordinate teams and monitor equipment availability

– Conduct equipment failure and risk analysis

– Safe operation of medium and high voltage switching

– Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
