Position: Senior Business Analyst

Department: Processes and Procedures

Reporting to: Business Analyst Lead

Introduction…

The Senior Business Analyst is the functional expert on a specified project and will contribute to the attainment of the company’s objectives by:

• Managing project/s of Bank Windhoek;
• Managing the project lifecycle, and stakeholders;
• Collaborating with project, product, and process stakeholders;
• Developing requirements, and defining functional specifications for the group.

Job Specification…

• Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
• Improves systems and processes by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; identifying issues and risks and writing specifications.
• Contributes toward and assists with project and process management duties.
• Documents processes, procedures and work flows and develops clear and detailed process maps and requirements.
• Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; train-the-trainer.
• Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Constantly assess risks and opportunities in projects;
• Ensure that proper risk mitigating factors are implemented in this high risk environment;
• Ensure timely delivery of all projects;
• Ensure all projects are delivered within budget

Minimum Requirements…

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The job requires:

• 3+ years Business Analysis and Project Management experience
• Financial services industry experience preferred
• Computer skills including good proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, BPM software solutions and/or other project management tools as well as Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional conceptual and analytical skills
• Demonstrate outside-the-box problem solving skills.
• Excellent knowledge of banks systems and procedures
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong relationship building skills.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Management of project teams of varying sizes;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Excellent time management;
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
• Understanding of how different banks as well as group companies functions and processes relate to each other;
• Ability to conceptualise opportunities within this space and of the industry;

• Exposure to banking / payment systems will be an added advantage.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• B.Com or relevant degree
• PMP Certification and/or Prince II;
• Project management certification or equivalent from a recognized  institution;
