- Programme Officer (Erongo)
The main purpose of this full-time post, based in Walvis Bay is to coordinate PV’s HIV and AIDS programs for Key Populations (KP) in Erongo Region at large and Arandis, Usakos and Omaruru sites To ensure that activities are implemented in line with PV’s vision and strategic goals and objectives and to further ensure that the project targets are successfully met Work collaboratively with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community, and local organisation representmg/aligned/focussed on these communities, local biomedical service providers, such as Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG), the, Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), health facilities, Regional AIDS Coordinating Committee (RACOC) and Constituency AIDS Coordinating Committees (CACOCs) and all the relevant stakeholders in the regions.
Duties will include:
- Coordination: Overall coordination of the programme in the region and liaising with all stakeholders accordingly.
- Supervision: Overall supervision of the implementation of activities by the IPs and ensure that it is in conformity with PV policies and the donor standards
- Implementation Support: Provide ongoing mentoring and support to the IPs during the implementation of the activities to ensure the set targets are reached and that the intended standards and qualities are met.
- Monitoring: Conduct routine monitoring of the implementation and provide feedback to the IPs for improvements.
- Planning: Drawing up of workable monthly and quarterly implementation plans in collaboration with IPs and WBCG.
- Reporting: Compile high level statistical and narrative reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Administration: Execute administrative tasks pertaining to the implementation set up with reference to; handling programme documentations, reports and data. Representing PV at all necessary forums and meetings (formal and informal) in the region.
Requirements
- At least a grade 12 plus further tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution
- At least 3 years relevant experience in coordinating programmes at regional and community level in NGOs set up
- Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, experienced and conversant with HIV/AIDS programming
- Experienced in key populations programming
- Average understanding of M&E and working with data
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of donor programming and reporting
- Comprehensive understanding of Regional, Constituency and Communities set ups and systems
- Computer literate especially Microsoft Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and the Internet)
- Fluent in English and the appropriate local languages
- Driving License
