Earthworks Senior Foreman – Octagon Construction

Position: Earthworks Senior Foreman x 1

Role & Responsibilities:

• Supervising contracted subordinate Staff, Operators & Plant
• Managing appointed Subcontractors and Suppliers
• Read and Interpret drawings to compile weekly planning and production programmes
• Ensure all plant and teams are working at the programmed production rates
• Coordinate Setting Out with Surveyors
• Ensure works are Constructed to specification and tolerance
• Liaising with clients, professional staff (such as architects and surveyors) and the public
• Conducting safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety
• Maintaining, implementing and monitoring quality control procedures
• Motivating the workforce
• Problem solving

Requirements:

• Certificate/Diploma/Degree in an Engineering field (Civil or Construction Management) is advantageous
• Minimum 15 years’ experience on Construction Projects, 5 on Senior foreman Level
• Willing to travel and be based outside of Windhoek
• Must have a Drivers License
• Namibian citizen (preferable)
• Good communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Commercial awareness
• Team working skills and Ability to motivate others
