Purpose of the Job
To manage the financial function of Engen Namibia and provide financial support by designing related initiatives, guiding and driving the finance division in relation to process, controls and procedures, and to guard against financial and business risk, contributing to effective business operations and ensure compliance to policies, legal , statutory and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Strategic management of the company’s financial and accounting system
- Work with senior managers to grow the businesses formulating strategies and plans
- Lead and develop the finance teams with effective performance appraisals
- Ensure the creation, production and distribution of the company’s financial and accounting reports to stakeholders in accordance with all statutory, legal and compliance requirements
- Oversee the budgetary process within the company and its submissions to the relevant committees including variance analysis and reforecasting.
- Responsible for managing the treasury function, foreign currency transactions, conversions and cost control and working capital management.
- Responsible for all compliance and regulatory issues including dealing with external and internal auditors, Inland Revenue, secretarial matters, etc
- Responsible for managing and implementing an effective control environment incorporating general controls, financial controls and corporate governance practices taking into account risks of the business and opportunities available
- Ensure that all financial controls required according to legislative and professional best practices are established, implemented and monitored
- Monitor financial performance of the Company against budgets and targets to ensure that the budget funds the strategy
- Identify, manage and monitor financial risks to which the company may become party to or be exposed through the pursuit of its objectives
- Manage and ensure compliance to the companies supply chain and procurement policies, procedures and requirements

Education
- Honours Degree/Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) in Accounting/Finance or equivalent qualification
- Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant
- MBA/MBL will be advantageous
- All foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the Namibian Qualifications Authority
Experience
- Minimum 8 years progressive Finance experience with at least 4 years in a Senior Management role
- SAP system knowledge advantageous
Conditions of Employment
- Must have a valid drivers licence
- Proof of Police Clearance Certificate must be provided
