Opportunity | Duty Description

• Identify generic training needs for the Mining department based on feedback from production meetings and other stakeholders.
• Identify individual skills gaps through training audit and formulates development plans to close these gaps.
• Identify and arrange for development initiatives/training for subordinates as deemed necessary.
• Develop short and medium term training matrices for the execution of training of operators and other staff members.
• Coordinate shift training requirements to achieve maximum efficiency and equipment utilisation.
• Facilitate departmental safety induction training.
• Engage Training Instructors and external service providers in delivery of training.
• Conduct competency assessments.
• Keep records of training related activities and report on training events, including feedback on individual progress, feedback from supervisors and compile updates on weekly, monthly training.
• Monitor operator permits, schedules and conduct refresher training courses.
• Prepare lesson plans, learning material, guides and evaluations to assessment instruments, pre and post tests and revision of assessment tools according to Company/ national standards.
• Control and co-ordinate leave applications according to shift rosters and schedules.

Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)

• Grade 12, with a Higher Certificate in Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development, NQF level 5
• Three (3) years’ relevant training experience, preferably within the mining environment.
• Train-the-Trainer qualification.
• Assessor Certificate.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Registered as Assessor/Moderator with the National Training Authority (NTA) will be an advantage.
• Successful completion of formal Supervisory Development will be an advantage.
