JOB GRADING – PATERSON B 3

DUTY STATION – WALVIS BAY

Primary purpose of position:

To render support for the smooth running of laboratory operations and to ensure good housekeeping through sample registration, sample preparation, testing and record keeping in the Microbiology laboratory.

To comply with the requirements of the quality management system and procedures of the Testing Centre based on the requirement of the quality management system ISO/IEC 17025 and accreditation body.

 

 Educational requirement: Grade 12

NQF Level 3

 

 Experience requirement:

Minimum two (2) years working experience of which at least one (1) year was in a laboratory environment. Code B Driving Licence, minimum two (2) years driving experience.

 

 

 Skills & knowledge requirement: Use of basic laboratory equipment Reagent/Media Preparation

Laboratory housekeeping

Laboratory techniques and procedures Understanding ISO 17025

Computer Literacy English Proficiency

Numerical Competency

Planning and Organisation

 Key Performance Area

Render support during analysis of samples during testing.

Prepare media, reagents, glassware, utensils and consumables (used for laboratory tests) Compliance with quality management system in the laboratory

Maintain laboratory hygiene and housekeeping to prevent cross contamination Perform administration and logistical duties

Conduct field sampling
