The incumbent will maintain the image of the NamPower Foundation so that it supports NamPower’s corporate social investment strategies. The incumbent will also ensure the long-term growth of the NamPower Foundation through leadership, effective planning, networking and formulating project proposals for consideration by the Board of Trustees.
- Develops and presents strategies and objectives of the Foundation to the Board of Trustees, Management Committee and NamPower Board for approval.
- Ensures that NamPower’s Corporate Social Investment programmes are co-ordinated and implemented effectively.
- The incumbent fulfils an advocacy role in building the profile of the Foundation in support of its strategies and programmes.
- Compiles annual objectives for the Foundation that is aligned to NamPower’s strategic objectives and demonstrates clear value addition to the company’s effectiveness and efficiency.
- The incumbent will be accountable for ensuring that the Foundation fulfils its corporate governance obligations.
- Develops strong collaborative working relationships with the relevant stakeholders.
- Represents the Foundation at various business meetings, promotes existing and new programmes and policies.
- Serves as the spokesperson for the Foundation and responsible for the production and distribution of all print and marketing material for the Foundation.
- He/she will be responsible for effective project management within the Foundation by identifying amongst others project milestones, costs etc.
- Oversees all administrative functions of operations and research of the Foundation.
- Develops appropriate systems and procedures to co-ordinate communication, documentation, accounting and educational assistance and evaluation.
- Co-ordinates educational assistance programmes, correspondance with educational institutions and other beneficiaries, prepares forms, receives and records applications.
- Negotiates contracts for the Foundation for Board of Trustees’ approval.
- Ensures that the Foundation complies with NamPower policies as well as the Namibian legislation and regulations.
- Ensures that all services rendered by the Foundation are benchmarked against similar Foundations/organisations (e.g., ESKOM Foundation) on a regular basis to demonstrate that a cost effective and efficient service is being rendered.
- Directs and oversees the Foundation’s financial operations to include investment activities, budgets and accounting business management and information systems.
- Provides leadership to the NamPower Foundation by managing appointments and promotions.
- Serves as the liaison between subordinates and the Chief Operating Officer as well as between subordinates and the Board of Trustees and is responsible for effective communication in his/her area of responsibility.
- Provides leadership, guidance and is mandated to represent NamPower on various external committees.
- Ensures that NamPower Foundation staff operates in accordance with NamPower’s corporate Safety, Health and Environmental Policy and formulates Foundation specific guidelines in support thereof in compliance with all relevant legislation.
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Social Sciences (NQF level 7).
- A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience.
