ASSISTANT TOWN HEALTH OFFICER

POSITION; ASSISTANT TOWN HEALTH OFFICER: C2

PURPOSE: Responsible for the provision of supporting services to the Town Health Officer by planning, organizing and supervision of all the activities related to parks, gardens, cemeteries, and recreational facilities in order to ensure that the operations are carried out efficiently,

REPORTING LINE: Town Health Officer

DUTY STATION: Gobabis Municipality

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Assists with annual health plan and provides input into relevant budgets

• Supervises the maintenance of pants and gardens, sports fields and nursery Conducts meat inspections at the abattoirs within the boundaries of the municipality

• Business Registration, Environmental Health. Meat and Dairy Control Y Disinfects household and businesses premises and carries out pest control related activities

• Issuing of dogs licences and inspection on promises to see if they are equiped to keep dogs Y Pounding of animals

JOB SPECIFICATION

• National Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent qualification

• Three (3) years’ experience in Environmental Health or a similar position

• Experience in Municipal environment is an added advantage

• Code B driver’s licence

• Registration as an Environmental Health Assistant with the Allied Health Profession Council or furnished proof that the requirements as prescribed by the board are complied with
