Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate Diesel Mechanics, Auto Electricians, and transport maintenance personnel
- Ensure effective execution of planned, preventive, and breakdown maintenance activities, work allocation, job card control, and task prioritisation
- Ensure breakdowns are attended to timeously and root cause analysis is conducted
- Monitor fleet availability, reliability, and performance of light vehicles and support equipment
- Enforce adherence to health, safety, environmental, and company standards
- Manage and control workshop activities, tools, and resources effectively
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive feedback on job cards and CMMS systems (D365 or similar)
- Supervise contractor work and ensure quality and compliance
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training to team members
Requirements
- A recognised Trade Diploma (Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician or related trade)
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a transport or fleet maintenance environment
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of light vehicle fleets, LDVs, and auxiliary equipment
- Underground equipment maintenance experience will be an added advantage
- Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, overtime, and standby when required
- Computer literacy and maintenance system experience (D365 will be an advantage)
- Valid Code B Driver’s License (Code C will be advantageous)
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months)
