Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Shift Team Leaders and trackless maintenance teams, overseeing work allocation, task prioritisation, and workforce deployment across all shifts and workshop teams
- Drive disciplined execution of planned, preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance, ensuring timeous response, sound fault-finding, and effective root cause analysis
- Monitor fleet availability, reliability, and maintenance compliance against targets, maintaining inter-shift alignment through structured handovers and clear communication standards
- Enforce adherence to health, safety, environmental, statutory, and company requirements; lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained
- Ensure disciplined CMMS use and reporting quality; coach, mentor, and performance-manage Shift Team Leaders and artisans to strengthen supervisory depth and execution standards
Requirements
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) and a recognised Trade Test (Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician or relevant mobile maintenance trade) – both essential
- Minimum 10 years’ post-trade experience in underground trackless mobile maintenance, including Load & Haul and Drill & Blast fleets .
- Demonstrated experience directing frontline maintenance supervisors and crews in a production mining environment, with accountability for shift delivery and execution standards
- Sound technical knowledge of planned maintenance, breakdown control, CMMS discipline, statutory requirements, and legal appointments applicable to Namibian mining
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Valid Code B Driver’s license.
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months)
