Key Responsibilities
- Gain an understanding of monitoring and reporting on health and safety and performance targets.
- Assist the SHE Coordinator with site audits including emergency drills, evaluations, debriefs and attending to recommendations for improvement.
- Acquire knowledge about health, safety, environment and quality standards and compliance regulations applicable in the salt industry.
- Develop skills in data capturing and processing.
- Assist with checklists and compliance with housekeeping.
- Gain experience in incident and accident logging, investigating and close out via Sharepoint.
- Assist in driving initiatives such as toolbox talks, developing topics for toolbox talks and general communications.
- Assist in running safety training initiatives.
Requirements
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from an accredited tertiary institute
- Namibian citizen
- Computer literate
- Valid driver’s license
- Team player: promoting and participating in the achievement of the Company’s Vision, Mission and Values
- NEBOSH, NOSA, SAMTRAC first aid, firefighting and safety representative certification will be advantageous.
- Train the trainer certificate would be an added advantage (ITIS).
