Purpose of the Job
The Benefits Administrator manages and oversees the day-to-day operations of benefits administration, discretionary and statutory benefits, including pension, social security, medical aid, and different incentive schemes, as well as internal audits, recons, and processes of all.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate new employee registrations, withdrawals, and beneficiary updates with providers such as NHP, RMA, Alexander Forbes and SSC.
- Manage benefit-related invoices, claims, refunds, and adjustments, and terminations.
- Support the onboarding process by conducting benefits orientations and ensuring new hires are correctly set up in all systems.
- Manage both digital and physical employee files in an organised and secure manner and always work towards.
- Draft employment contracts and other HR-related agreements as required.
- Coordinate and facilitate Wellness events, programs, and administration.
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years HR experience, with at least 1 year working in payroll.
- Experience in unionized environments and mining operations is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- MS Office programs: Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT.
- Payroll Processes and Best Practices.
- Namibian Labour Act, Pension Funds Act 24 of 1956, Medical Aid Funds Act 23 of 1995 and Tax Regulations.
