Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable Namibian mining, environmental, labour, and corporate legislation.
• Manage and coordinate all civil, criminal, and labour litigation involving the company.
• Liaise with regulators including the Ministry of Mines and Energy Namibia and other relevant authorities.
• Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.
• Provide legal advice to management on regulatory and operational matters.
• Oversee labour law compliance and coordinate disputes before the Labour Commissioner Namibia and relevant courts.
• Maintain company legal records and ensure timely statutory filings.

Requirements

• LLB Degree or relevant legal qualification.
• Admission as a Legal Practitioner in Namibia will be an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in legal practice, within the mining or natural resources sector is a necessity.
• Strong knowledge of Namibian laws including the Minerals (Prospecting and Mining) Act, 1992 and the Labour Act 11 of 2007 Namibia.
• Experience in litigation management and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
