THE OMUTHIYA TOWN COUNCIL OMUTHIYA TOWN COUNCIL INTEREST AMNESTY RELIEF PROGRAMME To provide a 100% waiver on accumulated interest for a period of six (6) months for residents with outstanding accounts, property sales, and lease agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- First category applies to residents who owe the Council for unpaid municipal services, including water, rates and taxes.
- Second category applies to clients who were allocated plots but have failed to pay or fully settle their outstanding balances.
- Clients holding lease agreements on undeveloped erven and with unpaid council services, who were previously engaged by the Council in October 2025 but failed to comply, must report to the Council within seven (7) days to negotiate payment arrangements.
Requirements
- Pay at least 50% of the outstanding capital amount during the amnesty period.
- Enter into a written payment agreement covering current monthly charges and arrears.
- Settle the full outstanding balance by 31 December 2026.
