OPERATIONS OFFICER (BASED IN WALVIS BAY, NAMIBIA)

The position exists to coordinate, monitor, and control all operational activities at the Dry port to ensure efficient cargo handling, storage, and movement in compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate daily cargo handling, storage, customs clearance and bond management matters and dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

• Supervise Operations and Customs staff to ensure adherence to operational procedures and performance standards.

• Verify cargo and customs documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Namibian authorities and port regulations.

• Enforce adherence to health, safety, and quality standards to ensure compliance with aviation and logistics requirements.

• Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for submission to the General Manager to inform decision-making.

• Liaise with clients, customs authorities, and transporters to facilitate efficient cargo clearance and delivery.

• Allocate duties to subordinates to ensure operational timelines are met.

• Evaluate performance of subordinates periodically to guarantee timeous and efficient execution of duties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/ Logistics/ Operations Management/ Transport Management or a related field.

• 5 – 7 years of relevant experience

• 3 years at a supervisory role

• A valid Code B driver’s license is a requirement.
