MUNICIPALITY OF SWAKOPMUND

Applications are hereby invited from Namibian citizens, for appointment in the following vacancy:

TOWN PLANNING TECHNICIAN

(Paterson C2 Band)

Remuneration & Benefits: Minimum: N$ 279,216.00

Market related salary package, Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Housing Allowance/Subsidy, Transport Allowance, 35 m3 free water per month and 20 working days leave per annum, and 12 gratuity leave days

Main purpose of the job:

To facilitate urban development and control of land uses in accordance with the Council policies. To evaluate and process development applications in terms of the relevant act, regulations, and policies. To initiate land use and development proposals.

Key performance areas: The successful candidate will be responsible to execute the following duties:

1. Direct and control land-use and development activities within local authority jurisdiction

2. Enforce and control Council’s Town planning policies and future development planning.

3. Administration and record- keeping

4. Technical and Information Support Service

5. Projects

6. Control and maintain the vehicle, tools and equipment

7. Attend to administrative duties for Naming Advisory Committee

8. Procurement Documentation and Process

Minimum Requirements: Applicants should have:

Tertiary Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree at NQF Level: 7 in Town/Urban and Regional Planning.

Experience required:

• Three (3) years relevant experience.

Legal/Professional Requirements/Licenses: (i.e., Driver’s licence, registered with Engineering Council, Registered with Health professionals Council, etc.).

• A valid Code B driver’s license.
